Joint venture company between the Merchant Family and Cesalpinia set up its first plant in Mumbai.
Cesalpinia was acquired by Hercules Incorporated of the USA in mid-seventies.
IGI built Additional Plant at Ahmedabad in 1974 and at Jodhpur in 1978.
1987: The Merchant Family bought back the shareholding in IGI from Hercules and became a 100% Indian owned and managed company.
1995: The Mumbai plant was closed down.
1998: The Merchant family restructured its business interests amongst family members and Lucid Colloids Ltd. owned by Mr. Uday Merchant and his family took over the Jodhpur plant of IGI.
Lucid entered in to a joint venture with Taiyo Kagaku company Ltd. of Japan called Taiyo Lucid and built a plant in Aurangabad in India to manufacture Guar water soluble dietary fiber.
2014: New plant built in Meglasiya in Rajasthan.
2016: New plant built in Bikaner in Rajasthan. A 40-acre farm was acquired to conduct field research on Guar.
2017:New plant is being built at Jhagadiya.
